Everyday MCP

Everyday MCP

It isn’t for humans. It’s for agents.

Everyday MCP exposes fourteen practical utilities through one anonymous remote MCP connection. The HTML is intentionally plain so agents and search crawlers can read the connection instructions and full catalog without CSS, client JavaScript, or a browser API call.

Connect first

Streamable HTTP endpoint

https://everyday.alfie.family/mcp

Authentication: none

Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP

Status: Public remote endpoint configured.

Host configuration

  "mcpServers": {
    "everyday": {
      "url": "https://everyday.alfie.family/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. Read the authoritative deployment response at Everyday MCP installation JSON. Use its http.endpoint; the MCP origin can differ from this website.
  2. Add the JSON above to an MCP host that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers. Host-specific permission and installation steps still apply.
  3. Connect, then call MCP tools/list. Its names, descriptions, input schemas, output schemas, annotations, actions, and limits are authoritative.

For a compact machine response, read the live JSON tool catalog. For request examples and operating boundaries, read the agent connection and usage guide.

All 14 tools

Descriptions and operation names below are rendered from the same runtime catalog used by MCP. Always use tools/list for exact request fields.

Everyday calculations

everyday_calculate

Calculations for shopping, bills, energy, travel, DIY, cooking, sport, grades, work, finance, statistics, astronomy, codes and colors. Use action catalog with a query, then describe with the calculator ID to obtain its exact parameter schema and example, then calculate. Examples: shopping.unit_price, home.energy_cost, construction.paint, sports.pace. Existing recipe_scale, shopping_merge and bill_split remain direct actions. All calls are stateless; explicit units, rates and assumptions are required. Random selection uses cryptographic randomness.

Operations: recipe_scale, shopping_merge, bill_split, catalog, describe, calculate

Anonymous timer

timer

Create, inspect, or cancel a durable anonymous timer. Creation returns a one-time secret capability required for later access and events.

Operations: create, get, cancel

Send feedback to the maintainers

ask_for

Use only when the user wants to submit feedback, a feature request, or a bug report to the Everyday MCP maintainers. Submissions are anonymous. The receipt confirms storage only and does not promise email delivery, a reply, or implementation.

Kinds: feedback, feature_request, bug_report

World time

time

Get current times, convert across IANA zones, or explicitly convert seconds/milliseconds epoch timestamps at millisecond precision. Ambiguous and nonexistent DST wall times are rejected.

Operations: now, convert, timestamp

Calendar and holidays

calendar

Return a month, discover supported holiday countries/states/regions, filter holidays by type and date range, or generate/parse bounded iCalendar (ICS) text. ICS supports all-day and UTC events; floating times and timezone definitions are rejected.

Operations: month, countries, states, regions, holidays, holiday_range, ical

Date calculations

date

Add date/time or business-day units, calculate differences, convert ISO week dates, count business days, or find bounded meeting-time intersections.

Operations: add, difference, business_days, add_business_days, iso_week, meeting_intersection

Unit conversion

unit_convert

Convert strictly within length, mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, pressure, energy, power, or data-size dimensions. Volume units distinguish US and Imperial definitions; data size distinguishes SI decimal and IEC binary units.

Dimensions: length, mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, pressure, energy, power, data_size

Text analysis

text_analyze

Count Unicode text units, compare bounded text or line-list membership, run linear-time RE2 patterns, or scan an explicit keyword list.

Operations: count, compare, list_compare, safe_regex, keyword_scan

Text transformation

text_transform

Convert or shift SRT/WebVTT subtitle text, extract dialogue, apply bounded Unicode-aware casing, normalization, replacement and line operations, sanitize Markdown, convert HTML to text, or remove tracking parameters from a supplied URL. No fetching.

Operations: case, identifier_case, unicode_normalize, whitespace, newline, literal_replace, split, join, line_dedupe, line_sort, line_number, reverse, wrap, truncate, strip_emoji, strip_diacritics, slugify, circled, punctuation_normalize, markdown_to_html, markdown_to_text, html_to_text, url_clean, subtitle_convert, subtitle_shift, subtitle_transcript

Text extraction

text_extract

Extract bounded email, URL, phone, HTML, sitemap, or URL-component candidates from supplied text without network access.

Operations: email, url, phone, html, sitemap, url_parse

Text generation

text_generate

Generate bounded cryptographic random strings, numeric sequences, UUIDs, or deterministic lorem placeholder text.

Operations: random_string, number_sequence, uuid, lorem

Text codec

text_codec

Encode, decode, or batch text with bounded standard codecs, including Morse and NATO phonetic spelling. Binary decoders require valid UTF-8 output; gzip decompression is capped at 1 MiB.

Operations: encode, decode, batch

Text hash

text_hash

Hash UTF-8 text with SHA-2 or legacy checksum algorithms. SHA-1 and MD5 are explicitly labeled unsuitable for security.

Algorithms: sha256, sha384, sha512, sha1, md5

Structured data conversion

data_convert

Validate, format, or convert JSON, NDJSON, CSV, TSV, YAML, and XML; query, flatten, or unflatten bounded JSON; or project, sort, and limit up to 10,000 flat scalar table rows. NDJSON source records become one root array, NDJSON targets require one root array and emit one compact JSON value per line with a final LF (except an empty array emits an empty document). TSV follows CSV quoting with a tab delimiter. Table sorting is stable, text keys use Unicode code point order, number keys accept only finite numbers or strict JSON-number strings, output is capped at 1 MiB, and no expressions or network requests are evaluated.

Operations: convert, validate, format, flatten, unflatten, query, table

67 calculators through one existing tool

Shopping, home energy, fuel and EV charging, DIY materials, cooking, sport, grades, work, finance, statistics, codes, colors and astronomy. Read the plain HTML calculator directory or calculator index JSON. In MCP, use everyday_calculate action catalog, then describe, then calculate with validated parameters.

Protocol and compatibility

Service version 0.2.0 targets MCP 2026-07-28 through the official TypeScript SDK and retains a legacy path for 2025-series clients. The negotiated handshake remains authoritative.

The experimental timer.fired event supports poll or push when the host advertises the extension. Event delivery does not guarantee that a host wakes an agent or displays a notification.
